The magic of imagination has evolved between the domain of literature and the domain of reality. Following developments in cinema to make the fairy animated and realistic, the fairy has found its place in reality and rocks children and adults alike within its board games and above all, its amusement parks.
Among the “classic” board games inspired by fantasy, we can cite Elixir (1993) and Once Upon a Time (1993), which are inspired by the world of fairy tales, or even Citadelles (2000) which offers to build medieval fantasy cities.
Among the amusement parks, some offer attractions linked to the Disney universe and inspired by fairy tales. Other theme parks around the world are also dedicated to fantasy universes:
Efteling, in the Netherlands, is dedicated to tales and legends, with among others the Fairytale Wood and the Dream Flight.
Santa Park, in Finland, dedicated to the world of Santa Claus.
Storybook Gardens, in Canada, whose storybook-themed attractions.
Universal's Islands of Adventure, in Florida, in the United States, has several areas related to fantasy: The Lost Continent, part devoted to mythologies and formerly to the Arthurian legend, and more recently The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, opened in June 2010, dedicated to the world of the Harry Potter novel sequel.
Camelot Theme Park, in England, is dedicated to the Arthurian legend.
Dickens World, in England, is dedicated to the world of the writer Charles Dickens.
The French Mirapolis Park, active between 1987 and 1991, focused on fables and great French novels.
